Your mouth is
the gateway to your body.
Longevity dentistry is just dentistry that takes the rest of you seriously. Salivary testing, periodontal (gum) disease, mercury-free removal, biomimetic restorations, cold sores — and what each one can tell us about the body the mouth belongs to.
Heart. Brain. Sleep. Skin. Gut.
Every system you care about runs
through the tissue we look at every day.
Look, for twenty-seven years I’ve watched the science catch up to what older dentists always suspected. The mouth isn’t a separate organ.
Inflammation that starts at the gum line doesn’t stay there. Bacteria that live above the gum can move below it, and researchers have traced them into the bloodstream, into arterial plaque, into the gut. None of that is fringe anymore — it’s just slow to reach a dental chair near you.
“Truly, truly — your mouth is the gateway to your body. We’re here to guide you to be a better and stronger version of yourself.”— Dr. Irwan Goh
What happens in the mouth rarely stays there.
Six systems the mouth is linked to — and each one can change what we’d look for, and what we’d recommend, at your next visit.
Gum-line bacteria have been found in arterial plaque. Calm the gums, and inflammation markers often fall too.
Untreated sleep apnea is linked to memory, mood and blood pressure. We screen for the signs at every visit.
Oral bacteria travel downstream and can colonize the gut. The mouth is the gateway, not just a door.
Crowded arches can narrow the airway. Invisalign® and Vivos® may help open it — often at any age.
How the jaw closes affects how the neck holds the skull. TMD care can reach further than you'd think.
Triggers we may catch early. One less inflammation event a month adds up over the years.
How we
actually screen.
A few protocols carry most of the longevity work. None of them are upcharges — they’re simply how we run a baseline visit.
Bacterial &
salivary biology.
A simple oral rinse, sent to a lab. It reads which bacteria actually live in your mouth — the ones linked to gum disease, inflammation, and the oral-systemic connections we watch for. Often it flags a problem months before an X-ray would. Pairs naturally with custom Perio Protect® trays for at-home delivery between visits.

Laser hygiene, every cleaning.
Every hygiene visit ends with a diode-laser pass — bacterial reduction at the gum line, and gentle care of any inflamed pocket. It's our standard of care, not an upcharge. Many patients notice less bleeding and a lower bacterial load between visits.
Custom Perio Protect® trays.
For patients with active periodontal disease or oral-systemic risk, we mold a custom clear tray that delivers prescription gel below the gum line at home — between visits, where much of the bacterial work actually lives. Pairs with our salivary testing.
Biomimetic & minimally invasive.
We don't drill teeth we don't have to. Bonded restorations that flex with the natural tooth, kept as small as the decay allows. Crowns are the last move, not the first.
Mercury-free, by choice.
All restorations are tooth-colored composite or ceramic. Existing amalgam fillings are removed under the SMART protocol when you ask — rubber dam, high-volume suction, supplemental oxygen, sequential removal.
If your gums are inflamed,
we already have the laser out.
Gum disease is the silent finding. Studies put it in roughly half of American adults over thirty — and most don’t know they have it. We screen at every visit, and our first move isn’t the scalpel. Every hygiene cleaning here ends with a diode-laser pass to lower bacteria and gently clean inflamed pockets. When the disease is further along, the laser often does the heavier lifting — targeted, conservative, and typically less downtime than traditional gum surgery.
Cold sores,
walked in. Walked out.
If you feel a cold sore coming, call. A 60-second diode-laser treatment within the first 24 hours often stops it from blistering at all — no prescription, no pill to remember. Many patients say the tingle is gone before they leave the chair.
It’s a small thing. But a cold sore stopped before it blisters is one less inflammation event in your body this month — and that’s how longevity work compounds. One calm trigger at a time.
